<title>Gerwalk site offline, the reasons:</title>
<link>http://www.gerwalk.net/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=30</link>
<description>On 06 Jun 2006 - 07:34 our website went offline.
I tried to change my ISP (Telefónica de España) to Wanadoo.
The deal was Wanadoo will give a cheaper service and static ip from the beginning, sadly the things that commercials says usually tend to be what they think you want to hear instead of what the company REALLY can give you. No static IP from the beginning and having to wait at least one week to have one assigned to my connection, this is what technicians told me before I 'signed' a vocal contract.
I reject the contract the same day (around 24 may).
Some days latter (06 Jun) I loose my internet connection. I call to Telefónica and they say that Wanadoo has the ADSL line and they cant do anything. Wanadoo says they know about my 'rejected contract' but it takes time to stop my connection processes with the company, and after a few days my phone line will be free again.
Great ! no internet with Wanadoo, and no internet with Telefonica. No internet at all for a MONTH!!

Finally the site is online again, and I have a well learnt lesson: Companies do what they want with customers and your customer rights in Spain are close to zero. I had also many other problems with Telefónica, but it is another story and I don't want to bore you :-)
